“I, David William Hedrick, a member of the silent majority, decided that I was not going to be silent anymore. So, I let U.S. Congressman Brian Baird have it. I was one questioner out of 38, that was called at random from an audience that started at 3,000 earlier in the evening. Not expecting to be called on, I quickly scratched what I wanted to say on a borrowed piece of paper and with a pen that I borrowed from someone else in the audience minutes before I spoke. So much for the planned talking points of the right wing conspiracy.”
Dear David William Hedrick: *I am a good American. I love my country. I am grateful to the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect my freedom and that of my children. I want to live in a country that prospers and continues to offer my children opportunities that most of the world’s population can only dream of. We are part of the most privileged society on earth. I try to never take that for granted. As a woman especially, I am keenly aware of how fortunate I am to wake up in a world where my opinions can be voiced and I have the right to disagree or agree, and the right to question the decisions made by those we have appointed to represent our best interest. I am sure that you value these things no less than I do. So, maybe we need to step back and take a look at the big picture here. People all over the world envy our freedom of speech. Can’t we please remember what a valuable thing it is and put it to better use?If you have real concerns by all means voice them! But patting yourself on the back, pandering to the crowd and calling other people names is not helping you prove your point. I still don’t know what your point IS. I get that you are angry. I get that you love applause and sound bites and that you hate socialism and think that is we are heading as a nation. But I still don’t know why. You didn’t say. Do you know? Can you please tell me? Because I like information. I have said it before and I will say it again. There are a lot of reasons to not support this healthcare plan. How about talking about one or two of them when you get the opportunity instead just trying to inflame the public. And by the way, even if you just jotted them down from memory, they are still “talking points”. And speaking of … I think it time to let go of the Nazi/democrat comparisons. If you really think that this tone lends any credibility to your arguments then it is time for a history lesson my friend. * yes I know this clip was linked from youtube, and yes I know I’m not really responding directly to him.
Why is the video cut off after the man in the audience speaks, why can we not hear the response to this guy's statement? I find it humerous that each time I hear an angry conservative speak, the words "Nancy Pelosi" comes out of their mouth… I wish they would have had these type of meetings before George W decided to try and finish his daddy's war in Iraq, maybe the people could have spoken and prevented this quagmire that has bankrupted the country.
Wasn't it Ms. Pelosi who compared anyone who dared stand and speak their opinion against health care reform Nazis? Why are liberals so angry these days?
