  1. Did you hear that the 6th grade field trip, you know the one the kids look forward to all year to the McWane Center, the one the teachers and kids have raised money for all year, was cancelled today because of THE SWINE FLU! Yes, they can all still ride the school bus together, sit in class together, eat in the lunchroom together and go to P.E. together, but they can, under no circumstances, go to the McWane Center in Birmingham tomorrow. I am calling for a total Boycott of school tomorrow by the 6th grade teachers and students. After all the chartered buses are already paid for and we apparently aren’t getting our money back.I’m mad!!!!!!!!!!!Tiffany Ladley Singleton

  2. I was so worried this morning when I got into the car to drive to school, the trip in to town is my time to listen to the news…how much coverage would be given to the Swine Flu on the radio out of my 20 minutes? Only 2! Gotta love NPR and Morning Edition!

  3. Oh, if only I would have more notice than 12 hours, I really could have planned a great boycott! lol!The sixth grade teachers let the kids have a “fun” day at school today. They planned picnics and movies and water balloon fights. So, I gave Savannah the choice. I told her we could go to Birmingham or she could go to school and of course, she chose to stay at school and party with her friends. It wasn’t the day they had planned, but they did have fun today. Belinda and I took snacks and treats to the class- YES, I said treats! Sugar filled treats!Tiffany
